Ancient Path Community
Ancient Path Community is built on a foundation of love, inviting everyone to join us in following the way of Jesus together. We celebrate our diverse, intergenerational, and multicultural community, fostering a joyful environment where everyone feels seen and welcomed. We are not chasing an experience, but rather dedicating ourselves to cultivating an authentic relationship with God and with one another as we learn the ways of His kingdom, which is not of this world. Together we pray three simple prayers:
Open my eyes to see the world the way you see the world
Break my heart with the things that break your heart
Empty me of everything but love
In Kaliyeka Township, midday prayer meetings, worship gatherings, and discipleship study sessions held several times a week provide opportunities for learning, serving, spiritual growth, and connection. At Dzaleka Refugee Camp, regular devotional gatherings with our vocational students bring comfort and hope.
In both Kaliyeka and Dzaleka, we invite the surrounding community to view the television series "The Chosen" every week. Every Sunday night, the arts and discipleship teams set up chairs, mats, a sound system, a DVD player, a projector, and a large screen on an open ground close to the AP buildings in Kaliyeka. Crowds of adults and children gather as the sun sets. A Chichewa translator helps bring understanding as the crowd watches intently, sometimes in silence, and at other times with applause and laughter.
At Dzaleka Refugee Camp, the team utilizes a television and a DVD player, inviting smaller crowds into the Ancient Path building. The translator speaks Swahili, and the intimate setting provides more opportunities for interaction. But no matter the crowd size or setting, the reaction has been the same, with people remarking, “I want to know this Jesus.”
